Meet the dainty pig, and his story here.
I'm Jess, a twenty-something Western Canadian girl.
I graduated a few years ago with a philosophy degree, and am fairly sure I will not directly put it to use. But I suppose it is in a philosopher's nature to contemplate everything, including the merits of having a philosophy degree.
I am also a lifetime yoga student, lover, and practitioner and a yoga teacher. My heart lies in Ashtanga yoga, but I can appreciate and enjoy all styles. I would love to hear any advice from fellow yogis, about what they like in their yoga teachers, and any other suggestions. I learn more everyday, and feel truly grateful for all of my teachers and students.
I am also fascinated with and curious about food. I follow a mostly macrobiotic diet, which is based on balanced, whole foods. I have found through trial and error, that my body loves whole grains, legumes, lots of vegetables, and a bit of healthy fat, including some fish, and a few nuts/seeds. I also have lots of tummy sensitivities. So those issues, combined with macrobiotic guidelines, means that I try to eat dairy, eggs, meat (except for a bit of fish), wheat, soy, and sugar free--which makes it difficult to eat out, so I try to find loveliness in my own culinary adventures. Many recipes and journeys in the kitchen to follow!
This past summer I returned to Canada after living in Japan teaching English for 2 years. I am so grateful to have experienced many things in Japan, and enjoyed my time there, but am really happy being home and teaching yoga.
This blog is a macrobiotic, philosophical, and yogic journey for those who are dainty in every way, but are gluttinous for love, life, food, and happiness!
Oh! I really like animals too :)
